On 24th April 2019, PINA Center for Private Investment held a focus group discussion (FGD) inviting key rating agencies, greenfield project owners, insurance companies and capital market players, to gain positive credit rating that is favourable for the investment grade. Investors, especially those from banking and capital market sectors, are often hesitant to fund greenfield projects due to the high risks offered from either debt or equity financing schemes. Credit rating agencies in this case, have significant roles in shaping the perception risk towards greenfield projects. This event was attended by more than 50 key players in the industries and regulators, which resulted in the positive attitudes towards moving the credit rating of these greenfield projects.
